Free Online GPA Calculator
Add each course with credit hours and letter grade. The calculator multiplies grade points by credits, sums them, and divides by total credits for your GPA on a standard 4.0 scale.
Enter credit hours and letter grades for each course. Optional course names are for your reference only.
How GPA is calculated
GPA = total grade points ÷ total credit hours. For each course, multiply the grade point (for example A = 4.0) by the number of credits, add those products, then divide by the sum of credits.
This page uses a common U.S. 4.0 scale with plus/minus grades. Your school may round differently or use a weighted scale for honors or AP classes—check your transcript or handbook for official numbers.

Frequently asked questions about the gPA Calculator
How is GPA calculated?
Multiply each course’s grade points by its credit hours, add those values, and divide by total credit hours.
What is a good GPA?
It depends on your school and goals. Many colleges treat roughly 3.5+ as strong on a 4.0 scale, but programs vary.
Weighted vs unweighted GPA?
Unweighted caps most grades at 4.0. Weighted scales add extra points for honors or AP courses. This tool uses an unweighted 4.0-style scale.
Is this my official GPA?
Use this as an estimate. Your registrar’s transcript is the official record.
